Tanteo Tequila

Winter Margaritas for Holiday Cheer

The Holidays are a bustling time in the spirits business, but as a Tequila supplier, almost all our work is done when December hits. With all of our Tequila created for the end of the year, this is the season to watch sales come through, finalize our 2016 plan, and attend Holiday Parties. We just put up the tree at Casa Tanteo here in New York City, and the Holiday cocktails are in full swing. Below I have shared some of my favorite Holiday cocktails:

Arándano Mano

We put this one on Instagram over the Thanksgiving week, but I think it fits well into Christmas as well. Beautiful color with a great balance between the tart cranberry and the spice of the Jalapeño. It also matches Christmas sweaters very well:

Arándano Mano

2 oz. | Tanteo® Jalapeño Tequila

1 oz. | Fresh Lime Juice

½ oz. | Agave Nectar

2 oz. | Fresh Cranberry Juice

Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice

Shake well and strain into an ice-filled Rocks Glass

Garnish with a lime wheel and fresh cranberries

Mistletoe Margarita

My mother used to always talk about a blended drink her family would make over the Holidays called a Polar Bear..  Since it had alcohol in it, she never served it to me as a child, and by the time I was old enough, she had forgotten the recipe. I tried to recreate it here with the red and green. These are so easy to drink - you will be kissing someone quick after drinking a few!

Mistletoe Margarita Pitcher Recipe

12 oz. | Tanteo® Jalapeño Tequila

6 oz. | Fresh Lime Juice

4.5 oz. | Agave Nectar

3 oz | Strawberry Purée (or 3 big strawberries)

3 oz | Cucumber Purée (or 6 thick slices of cucumber)

Blend 6 oz. Tanteo Jalapeño, half the lime juice, half the agave nectar, and the cucumber in a blender with ice

Blend remaining ingredients in blender with ice

Layer in a pitcher and serve

Spicy Ginger Margarita

I love Gingerbread, and while a Gingerbread Margarita might be over the top, a Ginger Margarita with Tanteo Jalapeño gets a double hit of spice from the ginger and the Jalapeño Tequila. A crowd favorite that is so easy to make with Domaine de Canton®.

2 oz. | Tanteo® Jalapeño Tequila

1 oz. | Domaine de Canton®

1 oz. | Fresh Lime Juice

1/3 oz. | Agave Nectar (or simple syrup)

Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice

Shake well and strain into an ice-filled Rocks Glass

Garnish with a ginger slice

Navidad Margarita

Chocolate and cinnamon is a combination that Mexico has gotten right for sometime, so it was only a matter of time that we added it to a margarita. The challenge here is to make this cocktail easy to drink and refreshing. While I said no to using orange in a margarita before, this is a known exception.

2 oz. | Tanteo® Cocoa Tequila

1 oz. | Fresh Orange Juice

3/4 oz. | Fresh Lemon Juice

1/2 oz. | Agave Nectar

Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice

Shake well and strain into an ice-filled rocks glass with sugar and cinnamon rim

Garnish with a cinnamon dusted orange wedge

It has been a great year for Tanteo, and that makes Holiday festivities all the more fun. Hope you can enjoy one of these over the Holidays and celebrate with us.

Para la buena vida,

Neil
